Mark Stuart-Smith studied painting at the Royal Academy schools and has exhibited his work in Spain and in the UK. Current teaching work includes: art at Connection at St. Martins day centre; art history at City Lit, and landscape drawing at Inchbald School of Landscape Design. He has a Masters in Cultural Memory and a PhD in the History of Art at Birkbeck University on silence in the work of the Spanish sculptor Juan Muñoz. He has published articles on Spanish art and memory in Art History and the Journal of Romance Studies.
