Mark Stuart-Smith studied painting at the Royal Academy schools and has exhibited his work in Spain and in the UK. He teaches art history at City Lit and landscape drawing at Inchbald School of Landscape Design. He has a Masters in Cultural Memory (Institute of Germanic and Romance Studies, School of Advanced Studies, University of London) and a PhD in the History of Art (Birkbeck) on silence in the work of the Spanish sculptor Juan Muñoz. Mark has published articles on Spanish art and memory in Art History and the Journal of Romance Studies and is the author of Juan Muñoz: The Politics of Silence (Peter Lang 2024).
